That Day

I remember everything about the day I ruined my own dreams. I was in heavy combat boots and my favorite flat brim. The stoners, punks, other outcasts, and I climbed the 10 foot high fence that led to the skate park one handed, the other hand holding tightly to our boards. Maybe it's because I was the only girl allowed in that group, but I pushed myself to hard, and now have to deal with the consequences. My dreams of being an Olympic skier died that day, all thanks to my stupidity and recklessness. Now I'm stuck in a fucking chair, and while my legs might recover slightly someday, I have to live with the fact that I destroyed my own dreams.
